The Alerton® BACtalk® Viewport™ is a compact operator terminal for BACnet systems. It connects directly to theMS/TP LAN of a BACnet system and can be wall- or panelmounted.
The Viewport’s easy-to-use keypad and intuitive 4-line by 20-character LCD allow an operator to query and adjust system values.
The communications design and messaging structure of the Viewport comply with ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135- 1995, BACnet. The Viewport integrates seamlessly with
your BACnet system.
The Viewport provides a low-cost alternative to the BACtalk operator terminal architecture—perfect for smaller installations and buildings where a BACtalk
operator terminal solution is excessive. When the Viewport is combined with an LSi™ Controller, a powerful standalone installation results—energy management features,
scheduling, and DDC are handled in the LSi, with the Viewport providing operator access to view and change most BACnet properties. The Viewport can also operate
without an LSi on the MS/TP LAN. In this case, global DDC and energy management features are not available; the Viewport is used to view and command VLC data and to
host a BACtalk operator terminal connection.
A portable computer running BACtalk for Windows can connect to the Viewport over a simple RS–232 PTP connection for system access, troubleshooting, and Viewport display programming. A BACtalk operator terminal connected to the BACnet internetwork can also be used.
Together with Alerton’s complete BACtalk line of powerful Windows-based operator terminal software and programmable VisualLogic® controllers, the Viewport compact operator terminal offers a total BACnet solution.
