The Banner Engineering SLM10P6Q is a rugged metal slot sensor designed for reliable object detection in industrial automation and manufacturing applications. Also known as a fork sensor, it integrates an infrared emitter and receiver within a single U-shaped housing, providing opposed-mode sensing without requiring separate sensor alignment.

With a 10 mm slot opening and a PNP switching output, the SLM10P6Q detects objects passing through its sensing gap. Its compact design makes it suitable for applications such as component counting, gear-tooth detection, edge detection, conveyor monitoring, position verification and small-part detection.

The sensor features a durable die-cast zinc housing with nickel plating, a visible red sensing beam, adjustable sensitivity and selectable Light Operate or Dark Operate modes. Its 3-pin M8 quick-disconnect connection and IP67-rated construction make it suitable for industrial installation.
