Description
General
The Banner Engineering M18TB14Q is a non-contact infrared temperature sensor designed for industrial temperature detection and process monitoring applications. It detects infrared energy emitted by objects without requiring physical contact, making it suitable for monitoring moving products, hot components and temperature-sensitive manufacturing processes.
Featuring a Germanium optical lens and a 14:1 distance-to-spot ratio, the sensor detects temperature differences within a measuring range of 0–300°C. Its thermopile sensing technology detects infrared radiation in the 8–14 μm wavelength range and activates its switching output when the configured temperature threshold is reached.
The M18TB14Q provides one bipolar switching output, supporting both NPN and PNP operation. Its integrated 5-pin M12 quick-disconnect connector simplifies installation and maintenance. Teach-mode programming allows the switching threshold to be adjusted through the sensor or a remote input.
