Description
General
The Banner Engineering M18TIP6E is a non-contact infrared temperature sensor designed for industrial temperature measurement and process monitoring applications. It detects infrared radiation emitted by objects without physical contact, making it suitable for monitoring moving products, hot components and temperature-sensitive manufacturing processes.
Featuring an enclosed plastic Fresnel sensing face and a 6:1 distance-to-spot ratio, the sensor measures surface temperatures within a range of 0–300°C. Its thermopile sensing technology detects infrared radiation in the 8–14 μm wavelength range and converts it into an electrical signal proportional to the measured temperature.
The M18TIP6E provides a continuous 4–20 mA analog output for temperature monitoring and an additional PNP alarm output that switches when the analog output reaches the 20 mA measuring limit. The measuring range can be adjusted using push-button or remote Teach programming. Its M18 stainless-steel housing and 2 m cable make it suitable for industrial process control and temperature monitoring applications, including environments requiring an enclosed sensing face.
