Description
General
The Banner Engineering M18TB8 is a non-contact infrared temperature sensor designed for industrial temperature monitoring and detection applications. It detects infrared energy emitted by objects without physical contact, making it suitable for monitoring moving products, hot components and temperature-sensitive manufacturing processes.
Featuring an integrated optical lens with an 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio, the sensor detects temperature differences within a measuring range of 0–300°C. Its thermopile sensing technology responds to infrared radiation in the 8–14 μm wavelength range and detects temperature contrasts of approximately 3°C or greater.
The M18TB8 provides one NPN and one PNP switching output for integration with industrial automation and control systems. Push-button and remote Teach programming allow users to configure temperature switching thresholds without requiring an external controller. Its stainless-steel M18 housing and 2 m cable support straightforward installation in industrial environments.
